Jenny Hamel started her television career in Fayetteville, Arkansas as an anchor and reporter for KFSM, the CBS affiliate for Northwest Arkansas. While there, Jenny was recognized by the Associated Press for her continuing coverage of a cancer cluster in a small town called Prairie Grove.
In San Diego, Jenny was on the frontlines of the 2007 wildfires that destroyed hundreds of homes and wreaked havoc on the county. She did countless live shots for her station, XETV, for affiliates nationwide and for CNN and Fox.
In 2009 Jenny was awarded an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for a story she wrote and produced, based on her travels to Uganda with a San Diego humanitarian organization.
